With nearly 25 years of handbell experience, Brian’s passion for ringing was nurtured early through his elementary school, high school, and home church bell choirs. He recently served as a clinician at the Nebraska State Handbell Conference and spent five years on the Nebraska State Handbell Committee.
A classically trained trombonist, Brian has performed across the United States and Canada as a soloist, ensemble musician, and clinician. He is in demand as a conductor and clinician at local and regional music festivals and conferences. Brian has had the privilege of performing alongside acclaimed artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Jane Lynch, and Audra McDonald, and his performances have been featured on National Public Radio (NPR) and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
Brian holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Performance from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL). He has taught low brass and music theory at UNL, as well as music education courses at Doane University. He currently serves as Instrumental Music Director at Bryan High School in Omaha, NE, where he leads the band, orchestra, jazz band, and AP Music Theory.
